NEET PG 2026 Result: When can candidates expect the result? Check last 5 years’ exam-date vs result-date trends

Posted on September 17, 2026September 17, 2026 By Gayatri Sanagala No Comments on NEET PG 2026 Result: When can candidates expect the result? Check last 5 years’ exam-date vs result-date trends

The NEET PG 2026 result is currently awaited by thousands of medical aspirants. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) conducted the NEET PG 2026 examination on August 30, 2026. According to the latest available information, the result is to be declared by September 30, 2026.

As candidates wait for the result, the examination-to-result timelines of the previous five NEET PG cycles provide useful historical context.

NEET PG 2026 Result Date

NEET PG 2026 was conducted nationwide on August 30, 2026. NBEMS has indicated that the result will be announced on or before September 30, 2026. As of September 17, 2026, the result has not yet been declared and NBEMS has not announced a specific result date or time.

There was also a technical disruption affecting candidates at examination centres in Sitapura, Jaipur. NBEMS subsequently scheduled an examination for the affected candidates on September 5, 2026.

Therefore, candidates should distinguish between the official result deadline and an exact result date: September 30 is the announced deadline, not a confirmed release date.

NEET PG Result Trends: Last 5 Years

The following table compares the actual examination date and result declaration date for the five previous NEET PG examinations.

YearExam DateResult DateGap
2021September 11, 2021September 28, 202117 days
2022May 21, 2022June 1, 202211 days
2023March 5, 2023March 14, 20239 days
2024August 11, 2024August 23, 202412 days
2025August 3, 2025August 19, 202516 days

Sources: NBEMS records and contemporary reports. The 2021 result was declared on September 28; 2022 results were declared on June 1; the 2023 result was announced on March 14; the 2024 result was declared on August 23; and the 2025 result was declared on August 19.

NEET PG: Exam-to-result gap, 2021–2025

What Does the Five-Year Trend Show?

The five-year data shows that the gap has varied from 9 to 17 days.

The shortest gap in this period was recorded in 2023, when the result was announced nine days after the March 5 examination. The result was announced on March 14, and contemporary reports described it as being declared in record time.

In 2021, the examination was held on September 11 and the result scores were declared on September 28, giving a 17-day gap. NBEMS officially recorded September 28 as the result-score declaration date.

For 2022, the examination took place on May 21 and the result was declared on June 1. The result therefore came 11 calendar days after the examination.

In 2024, the exam was finally conducted on August 11 after changes to the original schedule, and the result was declared on August 23 — a 12-day gap.

In 2025, NEET PG was conducted on August 3, while NBEMS declared the result on August 19. This represents a 16-day gap.

Average gap over the last five years

Across the 2021–2025 cycles:

  • Shortest gap: 9 days — 2023
  • Longest gap: 17 days — 2021
  • Average gap: 13 days
  • Median gap: 12 days

The historical figures therefore show a result timeline generally falling within roughly 9–17 days after the examination, although past performance does not establish the release date for the 2026 result.

How Does 2026 Compare?

The NEET PG 2026 examination was conducted on August 30. If the result is declared by the currently stated September 30 deadline, the maximum interval from the main examination date would be 31 calendar days.

That would be longer than each of the five preceding exam-to-result gaps.

However, it would be premature to conclude from this that NBEMS will necessarily use the entire deadline. The exact 2026 result date has not been announced, and the September 5 examination for candidates affected by the Jaipur technical disruption is also part of the 2026 examination process.

When Could NEET PG 2026 Result Be Released?

At present, the confirmed information is:

NEET PG 2026 Exam: August 30, 2026
Affected-candidate examination: September 5, 2026
Result deadline: September 30, 2026
Exact result date: Not officially announced as of September 17, 2026.

Therefore, candidates should avoid treating social-media claims about a particular result date as confirmed unless NBEMS officially announces it.

What Candidates Should Do Now

Candidates can regularly check the NBEMS official website for the result announcement and subsequent scorecard-related updates. The official NEET PG section provides access to examination notices and results.

Once the result is declared, candidates should check their rank, score and qualifying status carefully and then follow the counselling schedule released by the competent authorities.

NEET PG 2026 Result: Key Takeaway

The last five NEET PG cycles show exam-to-result gaps of 17, 11, 9, 12 and 16 days, respectively. The average was approximately 13 days.

For 2026, the exam was held on August 30, while NBEMS has set September 30 as the result deadline. Thus, candidates are currently waiting for the official result announcement, but no exact result date should be treated as confirmed until NBEMS publishes it.
